Money out the door!

So, I'm checking my bank account and see a charge from Six Apart...hmmm, who/what is Six Apart and then I remember, yeah Typepad.  I've been paying for this blog and haven't been blogging.  So, here I go, jumping back in a year later.  I see that I have a few entries in the draft section, so I'm just going to finish them and post.  Time to get the most out of my $$. (I just added the Aug 2006 entry that's been saved in typepad since Sept)

I'm alive!!

I haven't been around much, been keeping very busy with three little ones.  I have tons of pictures that I want to post and anecdotes to share, so I'll be doing that over the next few days.  Things are great here...just busy.  We've hit the stage in toddler-dom where 'sharing' is a foreign word and fighting over every little thing is repeated at 30min intervals.  Here is Antonio after his last bite of cereal this afternoon.

August 2006

Aug 1st--Happy Birthday Ella Grace!!!  My little niece Ella is turning 5 today.  The kids & I called and sang to her and she asked for a Strawberry Shortcake doll.  I guess I'll be running to Walmart today to pick one up.  My parents will be here later today and will be able to take it back to her.

Aug 2nd--Happy Birthday Richard!!!  I'm not sure how old my brother-in-law is today.  We haven't called yet, but the kids already have their singing voices ready.

Aug 5th--Adelina's FIRST Haircut!  Her hair is so curly that it only looks long when it is wet, but the baby fine hair in the back stays in a knot and needs to be cut.  It looks really good and she didn't fuss about it at all.   I was afraid she would cry.  We took her to one of those kid cuts places that has cars/planes, etc for the kids to sit in and watch a movie while getting it cut.  The stations for the bigger kids has video games for them to play.

Aug 10th--Diego's Godmother, Liz, came over for lunch today.  Liz was one of my bridesmaids and best friends.  I hadn't seen her since I was pregnant with Adelina, so around 3 years.  It was so good to see her, I didn't realize how much I missed her.

Aug 17th--Here is a pic of the kids wearing outfits that Marybelle sent them.  Marybelle is my mother-in-law's niece who is only a few yrs younger than her.  Marybelle lives in Albuquerque.  She's as thoughtful as the day is long.  Always sending cards, etc to the kids.

Last 1/2 of July

I haven't blogged in forever, so I'm just going to do a recap and add the pictures that I've taken.

July 13th-- My sweet, wonderful grandmother, Memaw, came for a visit.  She hadn't met her newest great-grandbaby and was very anxious to see him.  She was so surprised to see how big Antonio is.  She said, 'I was expecting to see a tiny baby, not a big boy'.

July 23rd--We went to Phoebe's 5th birthday party at Pump it Up.  Lots of fun!!  I even got in the bounce houses with kids and slid down the GIANT slide.  Adelina was very shy when we first got there, but she finally got into it.

July 27th--Antonio is 3 months old and such a HAPPY baby.  He is talking so much.  Only thing bothering him is some baby eczema.  It gets really bad at times and he seems uncomfortable, so I keep him lathered up in Aquaphor.

July 28th--Two of my nieces came over today, Kristen & Lauren.  Kristen was our first baby in the family and now she's a little pre-teen.  Lauren is getting ready to start kindergarten in a few weeks.  I can't believe how time zooms by.

Happy Anniversary

Vince and I have been married six years.  In some ways, I can't believe how fast the time has gone by and in others it seems like we've been married much longer than six years.  I remember the first time I drove to his house (ours now) like it was yesterday and at the same time, everything we've done and gone through seems like so much to pack into just six years.  Regardless, it has been six happy years.  Like most couples, we've hit some roadbumps along the way, but mostly it's been wonderful and I feel truly blessed to be his wife and have him as my husband.

One of Those Days

I was reading blogs the other day and came across a post by a fellow scrapbooker/stay-at-home mom, that totally described how some of my days go.  I don't know how she did it, but it felt like she was a fly on the wall at my house.  I emailed and got her permission to repost this here.  The below was written by Erica Hernandez.

Brotherly Love

The kids love holding Antonio.  He's 'our' baby, as they remind me.  Here are some pictures of Diego & Antonio...hopefully, they'll always be this close.

Another Collage

I take so many pics of the kids at one time that it is just easier for me to put them in a quick collage and post them.  Kip is probably regretting showing me the collage tool (LOL).  Something else funny...Vince took off Friday to watch Diego's little soccer game and then Monday and then the 4th, so a total of 5 days off when you include the weekend.  By the 5th day his nerves were shot.  The kids are so full of energy and don't mind most of the time that they just drain your energy (in a good way, of course).  I looked at him and he looked exhausted.  I just shook my head and laughed and said 'welcome to my world'.  In his defense though, the kids were extra wound up with him being home.  They seemed to look at it as SUPER play time.  Diego was so excited to have his daddy here everyday that he was bouncing off the wall.

Fairy Princess

Adelina has been dressing up like a fairy princess the last few days and waving her magic wand at everyone.  Actually, she alternates between being a fairy princess & a butterfly.  Isn't she cute???  That reminds me, every morning when I walk down the stairs with Antonio, Adelina says in amazement 'he's a coot baby, mama'.  It always sounds like she's seeing him for the first time.
